Chemie Heat Transfer Fluid Case Study: Assisting in the Production of Lithium Hexafluorophosphate at Longde New Energy
The magnificent project of Longde New Energy Co., Ltd. is located in the picturesque Jiaoyangpingpu Industrial Park, Shanghang County, Gutian, Fujian. The project is meticulously planned and will be constructed in three phases. The first phase will see the construction of a wet-process production line for lithium hexafluorophosphate with an annual output of 1000 tons. In the second phase, another wet-process production line of the same scale will be added, along with a dry-process production line for lithium hexafluorophosphate with an annual output of 1000 tons and an intermediate product production line for lithium fluoride with an annual output of 1000 tons. The third phase of the project is even more ambitious, with the construction of a wet-process production line for lithium hexafluorophosphate with an annual output of 3000 tons. Once the entire project is fully operational, it is expected to achieve an astonishing annual output of 6000 tons of lithium hexafluorophosphate, 1000 tons of lithium fluoride (intermediate product), and 23,000 tons of 31% hydrochloric acid, with a total investment of up to 514.07 million yuan.
It is worth mentioning that Longde’s new energy and new materials project for lithium hexafluorophosphate adopts cutting-edge and distinctive technology. This technology not only cleverly recycles all the hydrogen fluoride gas generated in the production process, but also converts the remaining hydrogen chloride into calcium chloride, which serves as auxiliary raw material for Long Fluorine Chemical within the park. This environmentally friendly and economical approach not only eliminates environmental pressure, but also significantly reduces production costs, bringing tangible economic benefits. Taking the production of 1000 tons of lithium hexafluorophosphate as an example, its production cost is about 6–9 million yuan lower than that of the same industry, resulting in an overall cost reduction of about 10%.
After in-depth technical discussions with the Longde project team, we have learned that the production equipment for the lithium hexafluorophosphate project has extremely demanding requirements for refrigerants and heat transfer fluids. The design specifications of the plant and workshop, as well as the operating conditions of the production equipment and refrigeration/heat transfer systems, all require precise accuracy. In order to meet these stringent requirements, the Longde project team conducted detailed technical evaluations and product testing, and ultimately selected Chemie Heat Transfer Fluid Technology’s “Cool run” + “EuroTherm” low-temperature and ultra-low-temperature refrigerant & heat transfer fluid series products.
Since the end of 2018, the Longde project team has placed multiple orders for Eurotherm’s MEG and 230 series products. At the end of 2018, they ordered 10 tons of low-temperature and ultra-low-temperature refrigerant and heat transfer fluid Eurotherm MEG. In early 2019, they ordered an additional 16 tons of low-temperature and ultra-low-temperature synthetic refrigerant and heat transfer fluid Eurotherm 230. In early 2020, they made another purchase of 13 tons of Eurotherm MEG and 17 tons of Eurotherm 230. As of the first half of 2023, the Longde Lithium Hexafluorophosphate project has reached an astonishing production capacity of 13,000 tons, with a cumulative usage of over 80 tons of our company’s low-temperature and ultra-low-temperature synthetic refrigerant and heat transfer fluid on the production line. This achievement not only demonstrates the technical strength of Longde New Energy Co., Ltd., but also fully proves the excellent quality of Chemie Heat Transfer Fluid Technology products.
