Chemie Heat Transfer Fluid Case Study: Empowering China’s Aerospace Industry from Heat Transfer Fluid to Refrigerant

 1. Hunan Aerospace

Hunan Aerospace Limited Liability Company (Hunan Aerospace Administration Bureau), affiliated with China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Limited, was established in the Shaoyang area of Hunan in 1970 and relocated to Changsha in 1995. Hunan Aerospace is primarily engaged in three main business sectors: aerospace equipment, new materials, and environmental protection system engineering. Yuanwang company has developed small tethered airships represented by “Yuanwang 1” and “JL-300”, which can reach a maximum altitude of 1000m and stay in the air for more than 20 days. The system is easy to operate and deploy quickly within a few tens of minutes. It is suitable for forest fire prevention, meteorological detection, emergency communication, urban traffic supervision, and has been applied in scientific experiments, urban change detection, target characteristic measurement, and other fields.

In early 2019, the aerospace company Yuanwang Technology began using Chemie Heat Transfer Fluid Technology’s ultra-low temperature Eurotherm200 synthetic refrigerant/heat transfer fluid (recommended for temperatures ranging from -85°C to 230°C) on their high-altitude aircraft flying at 20,000 meters. The actual operating temperature requirement was -80°C, and the Eurotherm200 passed the expected system operation and safety evaluation tests. This success earned the recognition of aerospace experts and secured future orders from Yuanwang for the low-temperature and ultra-low temperature series of synthetic refrigerant/heat transfer fluid products under the Chinese independent brands “Kudong” and “Youre.”

2. Aerospace Materials Research Institute

The Aerospace Materials Research Institute is a brand under Haiying Aerospace Materials Research Institute (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. It is a state-owned holding company approved by the Ministry of Finance and China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. It was established in August 2019, initiated by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation Third Academy and Aerospace Special Materials and Process Technology Research Institute. It is located in the Su-Xiang Cooperation Zone, with a total investment of 2.38 billion yuan and a registered capital of 225 million yuan. The Phase I project of the industrial park covers an area of 231.6 acres.

The Aerospace Materials Institute focuses on the “Haiying Materials Laboratory + Resin-based Composite Materials, Metal Plastic Forming, Thermal Insulation and Temperature Control Materials, and Advanced Ceramic Materials” as its main business structure. It is dedicated to meeting the demand for new generation aerospace equipment materials in China. With abundant resources and cutting-edge material technology, it strives to build an internationally top-notch and domestically leading aerospace materials research and development platform, as well as an intelligent manufacturing industrial base.

The Haiying Aerospace Materials Research Institute (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.’s high-tech composite construction project is located in Suzhou 3E Industrial Park, covering a total area of 340 acres with an investment of 61.8452 million yuan. The project mainly focuses on the production of aerospace special materials components, improving heat insulation and heat resistance performance, researching the performance of materials resistant to burning and erosion, trial production of key components, characterization of material performance, and component quality. Our company has already ordered Eurotherm320 high-temperature synthetic heat transfer fluid (L-QC320 national standard certification) for the production of aerospace high-tech composite materials and components.

3. Sichuan Soaring Airlines

The helicopter production base of Sichuan Tengfei Aviation Industrial Co., Ltd. is a top-notch helicopter repair base in China. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chengdu State-owned Jinjiang Machinery Factory. It has successively passed the qualification for equipment manufacturing and the certification audit of the weapon equipment quality management system. The system and product audits organized by the Army Equipment Department, Navy Equipment Department, and Civil Aviation Administration belong to the national second-level confidential unit. 4. Xi’an Zhuo Rui Aviation

5. Xuzhou ShengAn Chemical Industry

Xuzhou Shengan Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. is a Chinese company that produces furan resin and curing agents for casting. It is a production technology introduced from the United States by China Ordnance Industry Group Limited in the late 1970s. The Xuzhou factory started production in 2008, with a designed capacity of 50,000 tons of furan resin, 15,000 tons of phenolic resin, and a series of supporting curing agents. Up to now, our company has been safely operating and using German high-temperature synthetic heat transfer fluid as an agent for 16 years.
